Good Morning GVES,
Happy Fall! Just a reminder that the PTO Mums fundraisers pick up will be TODAY (9/23/24) from 3:30-5:30 in the GVES parking lot.
Reminder to Grand Valley Families (Fee amounts can be found on the interim report card that was sent home on 9/20/24)
This event is ideal for students considering a career in health care, including social work. Students get lots of hands-on experiences in areas that a health care provider would encounter.
The age preference for this event is high school juniors and seniors, but younger students are welcome.
Space is limited to 24 students.
Next Week!
Today is the last day of our Start with Hello Week!
Recap...
Meet and Greet Monday
We watched our Grand Valley Students kick off Start with Hello week with a GV video that was created to generate excitement for the week.
Table Talk Cards Activity
This activity encouraged students to communicate and learn more about one another to make connection.
Upstander Tuesday
Students had the opportunity to acknowledge students and staff who they feel are upstanders in the school. These are individuals who make others feel seen, reach out and help others and help create a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
Wednesday
The staff and student body wore green as a symbol of unity, inclusivity and solidarity. Mrs. McClain and Mrs. Brumit had a booth at lunch where students had the opportunity to make cards showing thanks and gratefulness to someone of their choosing.
Trusted Adult Thursday
Students created a paper treasure hunt in teams to identify trusted adults, safe spaces and ways to get involved and meet others.
Friday...
Students had a photo opportunity at lunch to take pictures with others to round out the week.
