We enthusiastically welcomed 14 NEW Greenhands to the chapter last tonight. Advisor Mr. Moodt addressed the crowd with his thoughts on their bright futures and the work they have been doing in class. Isabella Paulic and Rylee Rogers recited the FFA Creed by E.M Tiffany. Members and their families enjoyed light refreshments after the ceremony. We can’t wait to see where they let the FFA take them! Aim high, and never stop dreaming!!
This months Mustang Safety Club welcomed SCAD (South Central Ambulance District) to our Safety Club meeting on 11/16/23. Shaun Buehner- EMS Chief and Steve Grimm- EMS Captain, along with other staff members, presented a scenario of what could happen in a real life situation.
They placed a dummy on the gym floor, said an event was going on and an individual had cardiac arrest.
First on the scene checked the individual, no breathing or pulse. The officer started compressions, told someone to call 911 and to get the closest AED.
EMS arrived on scene and placed their LUCAS machine on the dummy to administer chest compression.
SCAD walked through what you should do in the event of a medical emergency. CHECK-CALL-CARE. Check the individual, Call 911 and provide Care until help arrives.
The students had many questions and SCAD was able to answer their questions and provide information on what to do. They also provided information on their classes for CPR and First Aid certification, the last Thursday of every month at 6pm.
We are thankful to SCAD for taking the time to come out and educate our students on what it takes to be a first responder!
