Hello Grand Valley Elementary! Arrival and Dismissal will look different this year, due to COVID-19 and social distancing. Arrival- Parents will not be able to access the elementary drop off area until 9:00 a.m. when the buses leave the elementary complex. The parent drop off line will begin at the STOP sign in the parking area closest to the stadium. Please be patient. Students will begin dismissing from the buses at 8:45 a.m. Students getting off buses will proceed to the following doors: Kindergarten-1st-Main Office Doors,2nd-3rd third grade doors, 4th-5th cafeteria doors. Teachers will be at each door taking the temperature of each child entering the school and to monitor social distancing. After the buses leave, parents will be asked to move forward to the elementary main office doors. ALL students being dropped off by a parent will enter the main office doors. No parents are allowed to enter the school. Please have your child wear a mask upon exiting the car. Pickup- Please contact the school office each day by 10:00 a.m. with a note or phone call if your child is getting picked up by you or a family member. Dismissal for pick up riders will be promptly at 2:45. Please use regular communication with the school, this will help us prevent delays in dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 3:00 or when all students have been picked up by their parents for bus dismissal. If you need a car tag, please contact the school office. You must have a car pick up tag by the end of the first week of school. Please be patient and flexible during these changes. Thank you for all of your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.

We have created a "Safe Return to School” Task Force and will meet this week to work on logistics of returning to school. There will be a plan drafted and available as soon as possible to all. We want to return to full capacity and normal but most likely we have ES students here much of the week, MS/HS students will have a brick and mortar schooling combined with a distance learning model. This is all to increase social distancing and be as safe as possible. For those parents who definitely do not want their children in school, we will accommodate them with a distance learning model so they can still be a Grand Valley student and return when they are comfortable. Have a good week and we will update you with the plan asap. Dr. William R. Nye Jr. Superintendent, Grand Valley Local Schools 111 Grand Valley Ave. West Suite A Orwell Ohio, 44076 william.nye@grandvalley.school Phone: (440) 805-4545 Ext. 4, Option 1 Fax: (440) 437-1025 "Every Student Matters. All, Today's press conference indicates that the Governor will outline return to school guidelines on Thursday. Once we get those, the superintendents plan to meet with the local health departments and we will put together our return to school plan. I will let you all know as soon as I can as I am eager to create our return plan and roll it out to all. Have a good day! BN Dr. William R. Family return to school image
Good Evening. This is Dr. Nye and I want to let everyone know that we are sending out an electronic “intent to return to school” tomorrow form for all Grand Valley families to fill out. We hope to return to school as normal as we can. We know the best education is a traditional education where all the kids are here and have all the extracurricular activities available to them. However, we will be facing many health guidelines and there will be challenges. We will make sure each student has a device next year so if we have to modify our format, they will be successful. We know some parents have students with health risks and we will have programs to meet all student and parent needs. We need each family to fill out the “intent to return to school” form so we can properly prepare for teaching spaces, technology needs, transportation adjustments, food service adjustments and extracurricular activities. We are excited to have every student return this fall and get back to our normal school setting as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Grand Valley is using Parchment to make ordering transcripts easier for you. It's more efficient & will deliver your transcripts to the colleges you choose in the preferred format. Note that it may take a week to process. https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/19397/account
